Cake Care & Storage Tips

I am picking up my cake earlier than my event start date - How can I best store the cake until then?

Keep the cake in its original box, and store it upright in the refrigerator. This prevents the cake from absorbing any odors from the refrigerator and keeps it moist.

How should I transport the cake?

If you are traveling with the cake, place it flat on the footwell (floor of the car) and away from the sun. Make sure to keep the AC on at all times

How long can I let the cake sit out until we're ready to cut?

Up to 5 hours. All of our cakes are covered with a white chocolate ganache frosting that provides a firm yet delicious layer of protection, preventing the cake from drying out or melting as long as the cake is in a humidity-free room and away from the sun.

Cakes taste best when served at room temperature, allowing the frosting and fillings to soften and the flavors to meld perfectly. Let your cake sit out for at least 30 minutes before cutting into it.

Client Acknowledgment & Care Guidelines

Thank you for choosing L’Atelier Bakery to be a part of your celebration. We take great pride in delivering cakes that are both beautiful and structurally sound. To ensure your cake presents at its best throughout your event, please review the following guidelines:

1. Climate & Environmental Conditions:

Our cakes are made with premium ingredients and finished with delicate ganache, buttercream, or fondant. These materials are sensitive to temperature and humidity.

• We strongly recommend cakes be displayed in a climate-controlled environment, ideally under 70°F.

• Avoid placing the cake in direct sunlight, near windows, or close to heat sources such as outdoor doors, kitchens, or event lighting.

• Outdoor or tented events without consistent cooling are not recommended for tiered cakes.

2. Post-Delivery Responsibility:

Once your cake has been delivered and setup is complete, L’Atelier Bakery is no longer responsible for any changes in structure or appearance. We ensure the cake is stable and properly assembled upon arrival, and we will document its condition at that time.

Any damage that occurs after delivery due to environmental conditions, handling, or venue setup is not the responsibility of L’Atelier Bakery.

3. Tiered Cake Notice:

Tiered cakes are constructed with internal supports, but excessive heat, movement, or extended exposure to warm conditions may cause softening, leaning, or cracks. Please ensure your venue and planner are aware of this and place the cake accordingly.

4. Planner/Venue Coordination:

Please notify your venue coordinator or planner to have the cake table ready upon delivery in a suitable location. We are happy to coordinate timing and setup details with your team to ensure optimal conditions.

By placing your order, you acknowledge and accept these guidelines. Our goal is always to provide a cake that is both stunning and delicious from first glance to the last bite.
